Governor of Bihar, Ramnath Kovind |
Presently, Ramnath Kovind is the honourable governor of Bihar. He was
born on 1st October in 1945 at the village of Paraunkh at Kanpur
Dehat district in Uttar Pradesh. He was born of Late Kalabati and Late Maiku
Lal. He completed B.Com. Then he was admitted to obtain LLB. He was practising
for the Central Government at Honourable Delhi High Court during 1977 to 1979.
Then he was a permanent advocate at Honourable Supreme Court of India from 1980
to 1993. He joined BJP for politics. He was elected the President for BJP Dalit
Morcha for the period of 1998 to 2002. He was also the President of All India
Koli Samaj. He was also the spoke person of BJP.He was elected for Rajyasabha
from Uttar Pradesh in 1994. He continued his membership till 2006. He held the
membership of Parliamentary Committees for SC/ST
Welfare, Home Ministry, Petroleum & Natural Gas, Social Justice and Rights,
Law & Justuce, Management Board for Dr. B. R. Ambedkar University, Lucknow
, Board of Governors, Indian Institute of Management, Kolkata. He was the Chairman
of Rajya Sabha Housing Committee.He was assigned to represent India at United Nations
(New York) and address the General Assembly during Oct in 2002. He has been
rendering his duty as the governor or Bihar since 8th August, 2015. Keshrinath Tripathi, the governor of West Bengal , was holding the additional charge of Bihar before the appointment of Kovind.
