Feel Good Atmosphere
Aung San Suu Kyi , a Nobel laureate ,has won Myanmar
Parliamentary election. Kyi himself won from the Kawhmu constituency in the
state of Yangon. She got 54,676 votes. She is from National League for
Democracy.won A party needs 329 seats in the lower and upper house of the
parliament. Kyi led NLD won 348 seats.
While military backed Union Solidarity and Development Party has got only 40
seats. There are some results which are yet to be published. There are 330
seats in the upper house and 168 seats in the lower house in total. 25% seats
are reserved for the military. It has veto power in the selection of the
president of the country.

Flooding Crowd for her speech
It is noteworthy that Aung San Suu Kyi has been Banned for
the post of president by the army drafted constitution. It says that a Burmese,
who has close foreign relation, cannot be the member of country’s high office.
Kyi has his English husband and two sons who live in England. The leader of USDP, Htay Oo congratulated Kyi in her success
and promised to hand over power peacefully. USDP came in power in 2010 and the Burmese
saw the end of junta government.
