In this constituency, three candidates ; one from TMC, one from Congress and one from BJP are big names. Shampa Daripa, the former Chairperson from TMC turned to Congress when her name was not announced by Mamata Banerjee who declared the name of Minati Mishra, the widow of former MLA Kashinath Mishra. Subhas sarkar is a state leader of BJP. He also was BJP acndidate for Loksabha election in 2014.
