Dr Sashi Panja
Personal Life:- Sashi Panja is
daughter-in-law of Ajit Kumar Panja who was a fire eating Congress leader and a
central minister. Sashi Panja is a minister of state for Child Development,
Women Development & Social Welfare. Sashi Panja is a medical
practitioner in profession. She did her
MBBS from R G Kar Medical College and Hospital. Her father P.V.
Krishnaih(Pillalamari Tenali) was chief industrial engineer in Hindustan
Motors. Sashi was brought up at
Hindmotor area where his father resided. She is specialized in ultrasound and
infertility. She married Prasun Kumar Panja who is son of famous politician
Ajit Kumar Panja. A resident of 250 Chittaranjan Avenue, Kolkata, 700006, has
two children; Puja and Namrata .
Constitutional Responsibilities and Success:- Sashi was elected a councilor from Kolkata Corporation
in 2010. Subsequently she was given the charge of education. In 2011, she won
2011 Bidhan Sabha from Shyampukur assembly constituency in North Kolkata. She
became a minister of state. She was attributed the charge of women and child
welfare in December, 2013. An additional charge of social welfare was given to
her in month of May, 2014.
Hobby
and Desire:- Mrs Panja loves to play badminton and
solve Sudokuand crosswords. She is a great fan of Kapil Dev Nikhanj. He has a
keen eye to the development of slum.
